Carve Pumpkins ~ Eat Pizza!

The NEW Zoo & Adventure Park is pleased to announce the return of our annual Public Pumpkin Carving Event, sponsored by Happy Joe’s Pizza & Ice Cream! The event will take place on Wednesday, October 6th, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Pines Shelter, off the north end of the NEW Zoo’s main parking lot. Bring your own pumpkins and pumpkin-carving tools to create a pumpkin masterpiece!
This event is FREE to attend. If you are unable to bring your own pumpkins, you are still welcome to attend, but please bring your own carving supplies. Each year, the NEW Zoo & Adventure Park does receive some donations of pumpkins that can be carved by guests during the event.
This year we are asking all guests to register in advance to secure your carving time. Capacity will be limited to help promote social distancing. Face masks will be strongly encouraged when inside of the Pines Shelter, and some tables for carving will also be available outdoors, weather permitting.
Event sponsor Happy Joe’s Pizza & Ice Cream will provide FREE PIZZA and the zoo will provide drinks to everyone who participates. Happy Joe’s mascot, “Happy the Dog” will also be on-site that night to meet guests!
This is a great opportunity for families, along with larger groups such as scout troops, and church and school service groups.
Pumpkins carved during the event will be used to decorate for North Shore Bank Zoo Boo 2021, held on October 8th, 9th, 15th, 16th, 22nd, and 23rd. Zoo supporters are also welcome to donate and drop-off pumpkins carved off-site ANYTIME during regular business hours, Sundays through Thursdays during October, starting on October 10th. The NEW Zoo & Adventure Park is continually in need of “fresh” pumpkins throughout the month of October to decorate the facility.
Pre-Registration is required for the event and should be done no later than 24 hours prior to the event start time. Walk-ins will only be accepted if reservations do not fill up in advance. Guests should RSVP for a carving slot between the hours from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
