JOB SUMMARY

As a team member of Heritage Hill State Historical Park, you will help build a positive working environment as well as inspire, transform and build our community through exceptional cultural and historic experiences. Under the general supervision of the Park’s Visitor Services Manager, The Visitor Services Associate provides principle support and assures seamless functioning of the Visitor Services Department.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

The following are essential job accountabilities:

Purpose: The Visitor Services Associate is responsible for the daily functions of the front desk and the gift shop.  This includes but is not limited to:  meeting and greeting park visitors, providing a brief park orientation and directions for park visitors, completing daily cash transactions, answering incoming telephone calls, distributing mail, cleaning, stocking, the gift shop and assisting the Visitor Services Manager with database management and other tasks he/she may assign.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for opening and closing procedures of the Education Center and Gift Shop
  • Enthusiastically greets and orients visitors providing them with information on all park programs and services. Provides a positive experience for shoppers in the Gift Shop.
  • Completes basic reception duties that includes, but is not limited to: greeting visitors, answering phones and operating basic office equipment.
  • Operates cash register and credit card machine at the Front Desk and/or Gift Shop, completes daily cash-outs, and records the daily attendance.
  • Helps to maintain databases including but not limited to the mailing list, membership lists, gift pass binder, gift store inventory, and park attendance records.
  • Completes light maintenance and cleaning tasks when necessary.
  • Assists with stocking incoming or back stock merchandise as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Visitor Services Manager.

The Length of Appointment: Ongoing
Time Commitment: 15 hours per week, some weekends and nights required.

Age Requirement: 18 years of age or older

Heritage Hill State Park

Heritage Hill State Historical Park is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. We are a living history state park devoted to the preservation of our buildings and artifacts and the interpretation of the history of Northeastern Wisconsin and its people. The Park opened in 1977 on a 54 acre site with 24 historical and reproduction buildings representing the early history of Northeastern Wisconsin from 1672 to 1940.
