Alzheimer’s Association Awarded $12,500 in Carols for a Cause Competition
The Alzheimer’s Association was awarded $12,500 to support the Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Green Bay through its participation in a “Carols for a Cause” competition hosted by Thrivent. The competition ran from November 15th to 22nd.
“The spirit of giving and generosity is felt far and wide amongst our Thrivent Members,” said Sarah Tomczyk, Engagement Specialist at Thrivent. “This was a unique opportunity to kick start the holiday spirit by pairing a Christmas carol with partner organizations that are making an impact in our communities.”
Thrivent hosted Carols for a Cause as a way to give back to organizations making a local impact. Five local nonprofit organizations competed for gifts totaling $50,000 in an online voting competition.
In the spirit of the competition, the Alzheimer’s Association produced a holiday video showcasing their community partners singing Deck the Halls. Partners included: Eden Vista, Rennes Appleton, Oak Park Place, Bellin Health, Resource One, Associated Bank, WFRV Local 5 news, radio personality Hannah with Y100, Green Bay Packers players led by #22 Shemar Jean-Charles and Sportscasters Against Alzheimer’s members Darrel Burnett and Bill Jartz.
