Area Youth Center & Bakery Running Low On Funds!
[Editor’s Note: We published an update story on “From Above” last week. At publication time, we were not aware of the looming financial need being faced by Carrie Zehms and her crew of volunteers. We’re hoping that our generous members and readers will consider “From Above” in their end-of-year financial giving.]
Our friend and Green Bay News Network Member, Carrie Zehms, of From Above Youth Center & Bakery, sent us this message earlier today:
From Above has grown from just being a youth center and bakery to a place where all people come to feel welcomed and loved. They feel God’s presence all around.
We work with people with special abilities, giving them job experience and a feeling of accomplishment and worth. Our homebound community is in our hearts and minds too. We shared 200 Easter baskets with them last year and would like to double that this year and do more for them. Along with that, we have marriage programs, bingo for the elderly every Monday and Friday, “Rescuing youth from the porn trap” talk for parents, and “Children’s Christmas Shoppe” with Santa and Mrs. Claus, all scheduled for this year.
With only 10 weeks left of this year, we are running short on our funds.
We need $3,400.00 for operating costs until the end of the year. We truly need your help.
The sale of our baked goods, along with help from generous donors is our only source of revenue. Can you help us to continue bringing Christ to our world and to touch the lives of all people in our community?
You can donate securely online at our website, or send a check to: From Above, 1599 Western Avenue, Green Bay, WI 54303.
We have many opportunities for volunteers if you are in need of service hours or just have a heart to help.
For more information, just call me at 920-494-3253.
Thank you and God Bless,
Carrie Zehms,
President
