Ashiworks is (STILL) Here For You

Posted on 4-23-2020

With so much uncertainty and miscommunication circulating as of late, Ashiworks  is taking this opportunity to provide clarification regarding massage services during the pandemic.

According to the Governor’s executive order (3/24/20) as well as the updated order (4/15/20), licensed massage therapists are considered “special situation” healthcare and public health operations, and are therefore exempt from the non-essential business ban.

Ashiworks’ studios are comprised of independent providers, so it is the personal decision of each provider whether or not to offer services at this time.

For the providers presently offering services, hygiene and sanitation are top priority. Providers are required by State law to maintain proper personal hygiene and cleanliness within the work environment. Additionally, Ashiworks will be implementing the following guidelines:

Allowing extra time between services to limit interactions among clients and provide adequate time to sanitize tables, door knobs, light switches, bathrooms, etc.

Remaining in your vehicles until the start of the service. The therapist will notify you via call/text if the studio is properly prepared earlier than planned.

Requiring payment ahead of appointment via our scheduling system or a card on file to avoid handling cash and using the front desk.

Exiting the studio directly following a service to avoid interactions in the lobby and at the front desk.

Encouraging clients to use bathroom facilities at home; studio bathrooms are for providers and clients in cases of emergency only.

If you wish to cancel or reschedule an upcoming appointment, please do so with a 24-hour notice. This is a personal decision on your part as well regarding your safety and well-being.

Stress can have a profound effect on the mind, body and soul. Through physical touch and intention in a safe, healing environment, massage therapy provides pain relief, reduces tension, increases flexibility and range of motion, improves concentration, reduces anxiety, promotes proper circulation and sleep quality; all necessary components of bolstering the immune system.

It would be our pleasure to assist you with stress reduction, especially now. We are sensitive to financial concerns, so if that is the case, please consider scheduling an appointment in the months ahead.

If you happen to have a studio gift certificate, please visit Ashiworks in the near future. Because their providers are independent, the studio retains then releases funds when a certificate is redeemed. Redeeming gift certificates is a synergistic balance between helping yourself and supporting your therapist during this unprecedented time.

“Like many small businesses, our studio will no doubt look very different than it did pre-pandemic. We are evolving our business plan to promote greater sustainability in the future. Thank you for your patience, understanding and support as we navigate these uncharted waters.”
