The Wisconsin 4-H Foundation awarded Emma Geib of Greenleaf, Wis. a $1,500 Oscar G. and Mary W. Woelfel Memorial Scholarship. Emma has been active in Wisconsin 4-H for 13 years, most recently as a member of the Eat River Riders 4-H club. She served as the club president and social media officer. Her projects include horses and poultry. She has participated in the Brown County Fair for 11 years and the Wisconsin State Horse Expo for 4 years.
Emma will graduate from Wrightstown High School and plans to attend UW-Green Bay to study biology on her way to becoming a veterinarian. She’s been a grand champion horse rider and volunteers at a local food pantry. She is on the honor roll and is active in her school band.
“Our 4-H youth exemplify true leaders,” says Brenda Scheider, Director of Development for the Wisconsin 4-H Foundation. “Emma is a great example of a young person who is using the skills learned through 4-H to ‘make the best better’. I know that our future is bright because of our 4-H youth.”
The Wisconsin 4-H Foundation awarded more than $27,000 in scholarships to outstanding Wisconsin 4-H students pursuing higher education this year. Wisconsin 4-H Foundation scholarships are awarded to students based on demonstrated personal growth, development and leadership, academic performance and future educational goals.
