For Immediate Release May 10, 2024: Libal Street Improvement Project to Begin on South End of Corridor

Beginning Monday, May 13th, Libal Street reconstruction will begin on the southern segment of the Libal Street Improvement Project, from WIS 172 to Allouez Avenue. Previous work in this area involved replacement and lining of various segments of the existing sanitary sewer, replacement of existing water and sanitary sewer laterals.  Work will now begin on reconstructing this segment of the project corridor.

Next week crews will set up traffic controls, pedestrian detours and temporary crossings. Crews will also begin pulverizing and removing the existing asphalt pavement.

Note: This section of Libal Street is closed to thru traffic. Local access remains for property owners, businesses and emergency vehicles. Please follow the posted detour route of Hoffman Rd./County XX to Webster Avenue/County X, to Allouez Avenue/County O detour route.

The northern segment of the Libal Street project, between Allouez Avenue and Kalb Avenue, will remain open to thru traffic until mid-June. The intersection of Libal Street and Allouez Avenue will remain open through the course of the project.

The entire Libal Street project is anticipated to be completed in October, weather permitting.
