Give Blood and Help Celebrate National Blood Donor Month in January

Posted on 1-19-2023

Winter weather can change in an instant – so can the nation’s blood supply. As we celebrate National Blood Donor Month throughout January, the American Red Cross asks donors to resolve to give blood or platelets to keep blood products stocked all season long.

In partnership with the National Football League (NFL), those who come to give blood, platelets or plasma through Jan. 31, 2023, will be automatically entered to win a trip for two to Super Bowl LVII in Arizona. (Terms apply. Visit RedCrossBlood.org/SuperBowl.)

There are many convenient locations in the Greater Green Bay & Brown County areas, and an appointment is the best way to make sure you get your desired donation time at your chosen location.

To Make Your Blood Donation Appointment, visit RedCrossBlood.org, or call call 1- 800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767).

All blood types are needed to ensure a reliable supply for patients. A blood donor card or driver’s license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in. Individuals who are 17 years of age in most states (16 with parental consent where allowed by state law), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. High school students and other donors 18 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.
