Golden House Invites You to “Adopt a Family” for The Holidays

Posted on 11-19-2020

The month of November is in full swing and many are gearing up for the holiday season, and Golden House is no different. The folks at Golden House are currently looking for individuals, families, and businesses who would like to adopt a family for the holidays.

Adopt-A-Family 2020 Guidelines

The families available to be “adopted” have used the services at Golden House in the last year. In order to give sponsors some direction, Golden House has come up with the following guidelines of items that their clients are most in need of at this time:

Gift certificate for an area grocery store

Gift(s) for each member of the family and a minimum of one toy for each child. Sponsors will be provided with a list of sizes for clothes and interests for gifts ideas. These lists are just suggestions. Do not feel obligated to fulfill each wish on a list. Please wrap and label each gift with the family’s ID number and letter.

Hygiene/cleaning products such as shampoo, soap, toothpaste, cleaning supplies, laundry detergent, etc. Place in a separate box/bag with ID number. (Doesn’t need to be wrapped).

Deliver all items to Golden House (1120 University Ave. Green Bay 54302) between December 7th and December 11th. Please call before you drop them off (920-435-0100). Due to the safety and confidentiality of clients, our staff will deliver the presents to the recipients.

If you are unable to sponsor the family you sign up for, or you will not be able to drop off presents by the date indicated, notify Golden House as soon as possible.

Please make sure to clearly mark all gifts with the family’s ID number and letter to ensure that the correct gifts are distributed. (Example write on the wrapped gift with a sharpie client #2 child b or client #8 adult)

An APPROXIMATE TOTAL cost per family for all of the above items:
Family of 2 $150-$200
Family of 3-4 $250-$350
Family of 5-6 $400-$500
Family of 7+ $550 and up

Sponsors are provided with the sizes, interests, and items most wished for, for each family member.
