New YMCA Facilities Coming to Allouez and Ashwaubenon

The Greater Green Bay YMCA plans for significant growth as they announce partnerships with the Village of Allouez and Capital Credit Union.  These partnerships will allow the Y to serve and impact more youth, families, and members of our community.

The Greater Green Bay YMCA entered a Memorandum of Understanding with the Village of Allouez, outlining the proposed joint development of an approximately 17 acre parcel of land located in the Village of Allouez.

Generally bound by Broadview Drive, East River Drive, Libal Street, and Wisconsin State Highway 172, this is to be the future site of a new full-service, destination YMCA facility, pending the completion of a successful capital campaign. Upon completion, the resulting facility will replace the YMCA’s current facility located at 380 Broadview Drive in Green Bay.

Through an ongoing partnership with the Village of Allouez, the Broadview Y has been open and serving our community since 1984, with the current building being leased through the Village of Allouez. After almost 40 years, the YMCA and the Village of Allouez recognize the urgency to respond to the growth and needs of our community with a new YMCA to better serve our families and service area.

The YMCA has created a page on their website for interested parties to stay informed of the Allouez project’s progress.  The YMCA is going to launch a capital campaign in 2023 to help with the project financing.

Sean Elliott, President/CEO of the Greater Green Bay YMCA addresses the audience at the press conference on December 8, 2022.

While the YMCA looks to the future and aligning with the growth of our community, the Y is taking immediate response to the needs of our community by partnering with Capital Credit Union. In Spring 2023, this partnership will bring the fifth YMCA facility to the Green Bay area: The Ridge YMCA at Capital Credit Union.

This new adult model wellness center will be located on the third and fourth floors of the Capital Credit Union building at 1121 West Main Avenue in Ashwaubenon.

This facility will be available for adult YMCA members ages 19 and older, offering cardio and strength equipment, group exercise classes, personal training, and child watch while you work out.

With staff available during normal business hours (to be determined), 24/7 access will be available as a YMCA membership add-on for an additional $10/month.

The Y’s partnership with Capital Credit Union focuses on connecting physical and financial well- being by not only bringing a new YMCA wellness center to our community, but also providing access to financial education programming, provided by Capital Credit Union, to the community that will be available at all Greater Green Bay YMCA locations.

The YMCA has also created a page on their website for interested parties to stay informed of the Capital Credit Union project’s progress.
