Green Bay Austin Straubel (GRB) Passenger Traffic Climbed in 2023

Passenger traffic is strong and growing at Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport (GRB).

“2023 was a good year for GRB,” stated Airport Director, Marty Piette, A.A.E. “Our passenger numbers were up 9.4% overall from 2022.”

Piette attributes the growth to a number of factors, including:

Increased air service at GRB: “Our legacy carriers, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines and United Airlines, have all increased the size of aircraft serving GRB and/or added flights to accommodate increased passenger demand,” he stated. “Plus, GRB’s low-fare carriers, Frontier Airlines and Sun Country Airlines brought back non-stop flights to popular Florida destinations.”

The return of business travel: “Business travel lagged behind the resumption of leisure travel right after the pandemic, but that has turned around,” Piette explained. “We are seeing many more business travelers who tell us they are happy to be visiting company plants, meeting clients and prospects again.”

Enhanced amenities for travelers: New restaurants can be found in the main terminal and on each concourse, offering local foods and beverages as well as expanded seating areas. New gift shops are also open featuring memorable souvenirs, Packers’ gear and a host of items to replace what you unintentionally left at home.

The ease of traveling from a local airport: “Travelers are realizing GRB is easy and close to home,” Piette added. “Our airlines have competitive pricing. Parking here is safe and reasonably priced. You don’t need to spend hours driving to a major metropolitan airport, battling traffic and paying high parking rates, to catch a flight.”

Brown County Executive Troy Streckenbach said he appreciates area residents and businesses who make the choice to fly GRB.

“By flying GRB, you’re supporting our local economy and the airlines who serve our airport. The more we fly local, the more likely it is that airlines will respond by adding capacity and flight options. So, thank you to everyone who flies GRB.”
