Green Bay Metro Fire Chief, Matthew Knott, to be Sworn-in Friday

The the Swearing-In Ceremony for Green Bay Metro Fire Department’s new Fire Chief, Matthew Knott, will take place Friday, February 3rd ,at 2:00pm.  The ceremony will take place in the Council Chambers of City Hall, located at 100 North Jefferson Street in Green Bay. Directly following the ceremony, cake and coffee will be provided at Station Number 2 (929 University Avenue) until 4pm.

Chief Knott has 25 years of public service experience in career & volunteer fire departments, as well as law enforcement. He was previously employed by Rockford Fire Department, the second largest department in the state of Illinois.

Chief Knott holds a Bachelor’s degree in Geology and a Master’s degree in Industrial Technology with a focus on Safety from Northern Illinois University. He is a Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) by the International Association of Emergency Managers and holds designations as Chief Fire Officer (CFO), Chief Emergency Medical Officer (CEMSO), Public Information Officer (PIO) and Fire Marshal (FM) from the center of Public Safety Excellence. Chief Knott is also a paramedic and holds numerous certifications in relation to public safety. 

Chief Knott is excited to work alongside the men & women of the department and serving the citizens and visitors of Allouez, Bellevue, and Green Bay.
