Luxemburg-Casco Junior Logan Guilette Named to Wisconsin Agriculture Youth Council

Posted on 5-11-2023

Logan Guilette, a Junior at Luxemburg-Casco High School, is one of 14 students statewide selected to the fourth Wisconsin Agriculture Youth Council, announced by the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP). All members will be high school seniors during the 2023-24 school year and will serve one-year terms on the council.

“Congratulations to the Wisconsin Agriculture Youth Council members,” said DATCP Secretary Randy Romanski in making the announcement. “I appreciate their willingness to be part of the council, and I look forward to engaging with these students over the coming year to gain their insights about Wisconsin agriculture.”

The purpose of the Wisconsin Agriculture Youth Council is to encourage young people to engage with state government and increase their awareness of DATCP’s interactions with Wisconsin’s agriculture industry. Its four goals are to: highlight the agricultural-related career opportunities available, including those in government; share the state tools available to support Wisconsin farmers; provide insight on how to effectively engage in state agricultural policy development; and increase networking opportunities for participants across the agricultural industry.

“With our district’s strong commitment to agriculture education, it is an honor to have Logan participate on the Wisconsin Agriculture Youth Council,” said L-C High School Principal Troy Haws. “To be named to this very select group is a real credit to him and his passion for the ag industry.”
