October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month

Posted on 10-22-2020

Golden House recognizes Domestic Violence Awareness Month with the ongoing work that is being done right here in our community.

This month, they are raising awareness in schools, on college campuses, partnering with local law enforcement, and honoring women of strength.

In 2019, Golden House provided shelter stays to 453 residents, answered 5,385 hotline calls, and served a total of 1,469 clients, a 7% increase from 2018.

The need for victim services is greater than ever before, there has been a 30% spike in helpline calls during the Covid-19 pandemic. Golden House has responded to more victims during the pandemic compared to all 2019. Our doors remain open 24/7 and able to serve victims of domestic abuse while we are tasked with a greater demand and fewer resources.

In observance of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Golden House invites you to consider showing your support by making a special contribution.  To donate securely, Please Click Here.
