Wise and Inspiring Words from 100 Year-Old Sister Jean from Loyola University

Posted on 4-02-2020

While she may sport Maroon and Yellow rather than Packers’ Green and Gold, Sister Jean from Loyola University in Chicago shares a piece of her her wisdom – based on her 100-year-long life, and gives us something to think about as we move through this pandemic.

For those of you who aren’t aware, Sister Jean became internationally famous during the 2018 NCAA basketball tournament – when the Loyola Ramblers made it all the way to the Final Four.  At the time, she was 98 years old and was the chief cheerleader for the Ramblers.  Her popularity was not due to her love for the Ramblers, but rather for her love for life and her love for others.

In the video linked below, Sister Jean sends a message of love and community.  While her message is initially directed toward Loyola students, families, and alumni, we encourage you to listen as though she were talking to Packer fans, and be inspired!
